Dear All

This evening Tuesday 28th June several of us met  Tobias Eaton barrister at law and a friend of Bonnie of Knots Rugs. The decision was unanimously taken to instruct him to act for us in the recovery of losses from National Grid.

Tobias is one of the barristers at One ITL and has extensive experience in dealing with our sort of problems.

The initial brief will be to write to National Grid on our behalf to get the compensation speeded up, he will be asking for legal costs to be paid by them.

Jason Myer and I will be coordinating and Tobias will get back to us with what he needs re information and and initial cost, which split between several of us should be minimal, as in his opinion a couple of letters should do the trick.

COULD YOU ALL PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE INCLUDED AND IF YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO CONTRIBUTE IN THE REGION OF £100 EACH.

IMPORTANT:  If you do not get back to either Jason or myself you will not be included, I am aware that some of you are away so some leeway has to be allowed!

Also please contact National Grid for your compensation pack Tel: 0845 757 3202 if you haven’t already done so. Get the forms off to National Grid as soon as is possible – THIS PART IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE TO HAVE YOUR INITIAL CLAIM FILED NOW.

Re The business rates, I received a call this evening from Mark Pavlou who is heading up our hardship claim, so far we have been granted a 10% reduction in our rateable values and the rates payable will then alter accordingly. This doesn’t sound like much and I am speaking to him tomorrow afternoon and will ask for confirm the properties included in the discount. PLEASE NOTE: in all claims, you must include the rates payments to the council in your profit and loss.
