Loomah - Junior Designer & Showroom Assistant

Loomah specialise in the design and supply of high-end, luxury bespoke carpets and rugs. We have an exciting role in our showroom for a creative and talented individual to join us as Junior Designer & Showroom Assistant.

Your primary role will be designing custom hand tufted rugs. We use Adobe Illustrator in creating our rug artwork so an understanding of this program is necessary. You will also need to be confident working with colour, scale, composition and pattern.

Your role will also encompass assisting designers & clients in the showroom, communicating with suppliers, creating orders and managing the design resources.

This position involves being an active member of the showroom and working closely with the Loomah team across all aspects of the business to ensure administrative functions and the day to day activities of the showroom run smoothly.

The role will involve:

  • –  DESIGNING CUSTOM HAND TUFTED RUGS: Responding to client briefs and producing artwork for presentation, designing new collections for the showroom, trend analysis, colour palette and design research, preparing portfolios and other ad hoc design related tasks.
  • –  FOH SUPPORT: Answering calls and emails, greeting clients and preparing refreshments, ensuring the studio and showroom are kept tidy and presentable.
  • –  CUSTOMER SERVICE: Attending site meetings to take client briefs, assisting walk-in clients, developing and maintaining existing client relationships., dealing promptly and efficiently with all customer enquiries.
  • –  GENERAL ADMINISTRATION: handling brochure and sample requests, preparing and sending courier packages, general administration and tasks.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience using Adobe Illustrator to create and adapt both traditional and contemporary designs. Photoshop and AutoCAD would desirable but is not essential.

Confidence and excellent customer service and communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with top interior designers and end users. You must be comfortable selling and promoting high price-point items and promoting a luxury brand.
